COMMUNITY GROUPS – Hey, they’re WHO WE ARE at BattleCreek. On almost every evening of the week, adults meet in homes all over the TULSA METRO area in groups of 12-16 to build relationships, find encouragement, discover principles from the Word of God for everyday life, and just have fun! It’s real! It’s relational! It’s relevant! It’s for you! Our hope is that every adult attendee at The Church at BattleCreek would get the full experience by participating in one of our 80+ small groups all over the Tulsa Metro and beyond.

COMMUNITY GROUP EXPO: Held in January & August, tables are set up in the hallways of TCABC in an expo type format for you to learn more about existing groups, get start dates, and further opportunities to connect.

GROUPLINK: Held at TCABC in January & August, this event is designed to help you connect with people in your same stage of life and area of town. Those participating in GroupLink will enjoy a light evening meal, hear from community group leaders, and rotate to different groups throughout the evening in hopes of finding a group to connect with and form a community group. COMMUNITY GROUP OPEN HOUSE: For two weeks in January & August each group will host an “Open House”. During this two week period, it will allow you time to visit several groups and meet potential group members, leaders, and hear more details about their study topic.

On which day of the week do Community Groups take place?


One of the great things about Community Groups is that they fit with every person’s schedule. Pick the day and time that works best for you then select the group nearest to you that works. Please check with the group Leader for specific times.

How often do Community Groups meet?


Most groups meet weekly. It is up to each Community Group Leader whether or not his or her group meets each week throughout the year. Breaks in children’s environments are scheduled during the Christmas Season, Spring Break, and Summer. Due to vacation schedules, groups consisting of married couples with children often do not meet during these times.

How long does each group meeting last?


Generally for an hour and a half to two hours.

Can I join a Community Group at any time?


All of our groups are “open” groups. You can visit or join at any time. You are free to visit other groups at any point during the semester, to determine which group is best for you. We do encourage you to “land” at a group as quickly as you can and try to connect for that semester and then if it isn’t a fit try another group the next semester.

What goes on at a group meeting?




Though each group differs in how they do things, many groups have a social time in the beginning, and then they transition to a time where they discuss the book or the Bible study and then spend time praying for each other. Some groups also end their time together in groups of guys and girls for accountability and prayer.

Where do my children go while I attend Community Group?




Environments are offered on Sunday and Wednesday evenings for children and youth. Some groups provide childcare on their own because of group location or dynamic of their groups.

How do I become a Community Groups Leader or Host Home?


We constantly plan for new Community Groups and offer a special Leader Orientation at least four times during the year. If you believe that God is calling you to lead or host a group in your home, please contact Chris Campbell, Advance Pastor, at ccampbell@tcabc.com.
